Celebrating 30 Years of dedicated Service to Rural Communities

30th anniversary event of the ESMABAMA Association

On August 2024, we celebrated 30 years of commitment to the most vulnerable communities in southern Sofala Province. The event, held at “Hotel Moçambique” in Beira, brought together key figures from the provincial government, the city council, the archbishop of Beira, as well as organizations, partners, collaborators, and associates. This milestone was not only a celebration of 3 decades of hard work, but also an opportunity for ESMABAMA to reflect on the challenges and successes of its journey.

In what context did we start working in the missions?

During Mozambique’s civil war, much of the country’s infrastructure was destroyed, many lives were lost, and despair spread. As a result, living conditions became extremely difficult, with people lacking essential resources for survival. In response, ESMABAMA began working to restore dignity to the people of southern Sofala through education, healthcare, and agricultural support. By focusing on these areas, ESMABAMA has helped bring back hope and joy, improving the quality of life and creating a brighter future for rural communities.
