Impact of disaster relief

Some figures that reflect the impact of disaster relief carried out by ESMABAMA in emergency aid and consequences of the climate crisis emergency:

2019 - 2021, following cyclone Idai: 12,000 families supported with emergency distribution, mainly in agricultural terms (Búzi and Chibabava districts of Sofala Province);

The communities around Estaquinha and Barada lost everything with the passage of cyclone Idai. The work of ESMABAMA together with its partners, was fundamental for the survival, uplifting of these populations and had great impact of disaster relief;

2021 - 2022: 522 families supported in Mutindiri in refugee camps (following armed attacks);

Estaquinha and Barada: all goat animals died and loss of all agricultural production with the floods, some of the disaster consequences, following cyclone Idai in 2019;

Mangunde: loss of all agricultural production, in 2019, with the floods;

Machanga: agricultural production has been very difficult since 2005/2006 due to successive droughts.
